The Chemical Peel Treatment
If in just one day, you would want healthier, smoother looking skin and want to greatly improve your overall complexion, the chemical peel treatment may be right for you. Chemical peels would reduce skin discoloration and redness along with reducing the depth of wrinkles and surface lines, in order to smooth out the skin’s texture. Treatments contain combinations of trichloroacetic acid, alpha-hydroxy acids (also known as AHAs), beta-hydroxy acids and retinol that are all naturally occurring and work to remove dead skin cells from the skin’s surface to reveal the newer healthier cells underneath. Different concentrations and agents are used for different degrees of the patient’s skin damage. The peels included are glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and lactic acid.
Chemical Peels: How do They Work?
- The different solutions have varying effects and penetrate different levels of the skin.
- The precise formula of chemical solutions are adjusted to each patients’ specific needs.
- Peels work to correct damage caused by acne, wrinkles, scaring, skin discolorations, the sun, and precancerous lesions.
The Illuminize Peel
This particular peel is a chemical peel that delivers a natural glow to the skin and is medical grade. This peel, like microdermabrasion, exfoliates dead skin cells however the Illuminize Peel does not produce the abrasiveness of the crystals nor does it have a risk of spreading bacteria over the skin. This peel results in a quick glow to the skin without any downtime or peeling. The Illuminize Peel is perfect for people who cannot afford the downtime of peeling but want something more invasive.
The Vitalize Peel
The most popular peel we use is the Vitalize Peel. The Vitalize Peel works to exfoliate dead skin resulting in less brown spots, less sun damage, less acne and less acne scarring. Two days after application the skin, from the chin up to the forehead, peels in as little as 2 to 3 days.
The Rejuvenize Peel
The strongest of the three peels we offer, the Rejuvenize Peel, is perfect for individuals who have had other types of peels and now have skin that is more tolerant to medical grade peels. These individuals will see less shedding of dead skin cells when other chemical peels are used. After using a Rejuvenize Peel, the patient might notice a slight increase of skin peeling and mild skin redness in as little as one to two days after application. Note the duration of these effects usually lasts approximately 3-4 days.
