If you feel like your eyebrows are thin, ill-defined, or simply not as flattering as they could be, consider micro-blading. Micro-blading is offered by our full-service Med Spa, and this process can give you the brows that you’ve always wanted.
Here’s what you need to know about our micro-blading service.
What Is Permanent Makeup?
Permanent makeup involves using blades or needles for cosmetic tattooing. Micro-blading is done by hand, without a machine, to permanently repair and restore your natural eyebrows. When you over-pluck your brows or just want some more definition, micro-blading can give you the look you want, flattering and framing your eyes. Different from eyebrow-tattooing, micro-blading involves blades used by hand in a medical setting, while eyebrow-tattooing is done with needles and a machine by a tattoo artist.
What to Expect During Treatment
When you make the decision, expect to go back to your technician at least twice: once for the initial consult, outlining, and micro-blading; return later for sloughing and touch-ups. The second appointment typically is scheduled for a month after the initial treatment to allow your skin to naturally slough-away any dead skin or scabbing. This also provides your technician the opportunity to assess how well your skin receives the ink and make color adjustments, if necessary.
Your first treatment takes a couple of hours, and a local anesthetic is used to reduce any discomfort, although most clients report little-to-no pain associated. Since each client’s skin texture, type, and the surface is different, each will react and respond to treatment differently.
What to Expect After Treatments
Microblading before and after
You can expect mild scabbing during the first 30 days following treatment, but this should heal by the time you return to the technician for your second appointment. It is important to make sure that you don’t get water, soap, lotion, or cosmetics in the eyebrow area for the first seven days after micro-blading. You also shouldn’t swim, shower, sunbathe, or touch the eyebrow area.
Additional Tips for Micro-Blading Customers
Be wary of riding in open-air vehicles, such as motorcycles or convertibles for two weeks following your treatment.
Avoid alcohol to expedite healing, especially in the two weeks following treatment.
The sun can impact and fade the pigment used, so be sure to use sunscreen to preserve and maintain your eyebrows.
